THE COMET COMPETITION

The Comet Competition with Ingram Micro and MassChallenge is a multi-location competition that seeks to identify and support the most promising B2B technology startups in the world. Winning startups will share over $1.5M in cash and go-to-market funds, join Ingram Micro at Cloud Summit 2019 to showcase their products in front of the largest gathering of technology resellers in the world, and develop a lasting relationship with Ingram Micro.

Competition Benefits
Ingram Micro Cloud and MassChallenge are committed to accelerating the go-to-market strategies of top B2B technology startups. The most successful startups look to an indirect distribution channel earlier in their development, providing diversified revenue streams, access to new markets around the world, and the ability to scale faster.

The Comet Competition with Ingram Micro and MassChallenge will help startups purpose-build for the channel, powering them to new revenue heights with the following benefits:

  • The top ~45 startups will be invited to pitch a panel of expert judges in Austin, Boston, or Tel Aviv (~15 per market)
  • Each region (Austin, Boston, Tel Aviv) will name one winner and three runners-up and each finalist receives:
    • Go-to-Market Awards*:
      • 3 winners receive $100,000 cash and $200,000 in-kind GTM funding each
      • 9 runners up receive $75,000 in-kind GTM funding each
    • Cloud Summit
      • All 12 winners and runners-up receive a free registration and 2-night hotel stay for one member of their founding team to attend Ingram Micro’s Cloud Summit (March 11-13, 2019) where they will meet with a community of top resellers for market validation and have a complementary showcase booth on the exposition floor
      • The 3 winners will also have the opportunity to speak on the main stage, streamed live by Fortune Magazine.
*Note: These awards take no equity or debt and are intended for scaling business operations of winning startups. Cloud Summit award value is considered to be part of the overall GTM funding.
